Fear Effect getting modern ports in 2025

Limited Run Games has announced modern ports for the original Fear Effect game, in collaboration with IP holder Square Enix.

Fear Effect is coming to Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 sometime in 2025. This is the first time the game is being ported to modern platforms.

Originally developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment, Fear Effect was released back in 2000 for the original PlayStation. It got a prequel, Fear Effect: Retro Helix, with a remake planned back in 2017 but it ultimately got canceled.
