Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party is considering performing using AI for public rhetoric such as speeches or public statements.
The party’s new “LDP AI” has “potential to elevate parliamentary debates to a higher level” according to a translation from X (formerly Twitter) user Jeffrey Hall.

Artificial Intelligence has proven to be a versatile technology in recent months, with everything from translation to voice reconstruction. However what kicked off AI giants like OpenAI was ChatGPT, its language model. While there’s all sorts of neat ways to use AI that are still being explored, we’re hearing less about the refinement of existing AI tools.
The possible use of AI in political rhetoric wouldn’t just “elevate” debates, as the LDP hopes, but it would elevate the possible uses of AI language models beyond horny roleplay chatbots and cheating on homework.
