PlayStation Future of Gaming Showcase Premieres June 4, will Show PlayStation 5 Games

The date for the PlayStation Future of Gaming showcase has been announced, set to reveal games on the PlayStation 5.

GamesIndustry.biz reports (after an interview with PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan) that PlayStation will host a “Future of Gaming” digital event for roughly one hour, showcasing on PlayStation 5 games, the “first in a series of updates.”

Previously we reported on the rumor that there would be a PlayStation 5 games on June 3rd, but the date was not set in stone. Venture Beats’ sources also claimed that Sony “seems aware of the backlash that Microsoft faced for its first Xbox 20/20 event. Fans were unhappy with the lack of gameplay at that presentation. In response, Sony wants to rely on PS5 games that are actually running on real hardware.”

It would seem that Sony are also planning multiple events, judging by what GamesIndustry.biz has reported.
