Ubisoft and Netflix to Produce Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Anime by John Wick Writer

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist

Ubisoft and Netflix have teamed up to produce an anime based on Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, with writer and executive producer Derek Kolstad (John Wick).

Variety reports that according to “sources,” the series will have two seasons and 16 episodes. Netflix, Ubisoft, and Kolstad have “declined to comment on the specifics of the deal” to Variety. Other details are scant at this time.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell began in 2002, following agent Sam Fisher of the NSA black-ops sub-division Third Echelon. Players utilized stealth to take down terrorists and grand conspiracies. The last game was in 2013 with Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

This is not the first time Ubisoft and Netflix have worked together. Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet was a sitcom about game developers attempting to launch the next major expansion for a hit MMO. A second series was greenlit before the first season premiered.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.
